West Lindsey Landscapes Ltd take pride in our work and are pleased to offer the following services in both soft and hard landscaping aspects.
Cultivation – Using our specialist machinery and with the option of two implements, we are able to cultivate consolidated soil to break up compaction to then allow us to grade and level using a combination of our ‘Blec Box Rake’ and manual rakes to achieve a appropriate finish.
Raking/Levelling – Using Chelwood Rakes accompanied with our skill set, we are able to manually rake areas to clear debris up to 50ml and grade the soil to achieve a foundation that is acceptable for seeding or turfing.
Turfing – Using Arena quality turf that is locally harvested from Tillers, partnered with fertiliser we obtain from Germinal Seeds, we have all the required products to lay healthy turf, using our in-house methods, laying from batons, it allows us to leave a vibrant looking finish to satisfy all our clients.
Seeding – All seed we use is sourced from our specialist, Germinal Seeds. Using high quality mixtures of seeds, we are able to calibrate our distributor to accurately achieve an even and sufficient coverage to all areas.
We also offer the option of rolling once the heads of the seed start to emerge, to further germination followed by overseeing any areas that look to have failed.
Planting – We work with hand sourced plants, varying in species and size, from our extensive range of nursery suppliers. We aim to achieve our clients’ interpretation of a concept idea, which we then bring to life with the introduction of our planting schemes.
The stock we use vary from container grown plants and root-balled trees, to bare root native hedging. When planting we take appropriate action, ensuring all native hedging is installed with spirals and canes, to protect them against vermin, and to support them once they are in the ground.
With all containerised stock, we dig sufficient holes to allow the root systems to adjust to the new environment and to provide longevity. All trees are supported with an option of an underground guiding system, single staking or double staking depending on client preference and also on what we would advise depending on the situation.
We provide root barrier to any excavations and tree pits that might encompass services, to deflect the roots away and prevent damage in the long term.
We offer an option of installing an irrigation system to all tress and hedging when planting, to allow ease of watering once works are completed.
Membrane and Mulch Spreading – To all of our planting schemes we encourage the incorporation of Geo-textile membrane. This acts as a weed suppressant to prolong the high standard of finish we leave once all planting aspects are complete.
To cover the dull fabric of the membrane, we chose to use bark mulch from our preferred supplier, MEC. The mulch we use is a recycled product that adds a different dimension to the area. We recommend a coverage of 50ml to see the benefit of the natural material which enhances our planting schemes.
Machinery – With our own extensive range of machinery ranging from hand held power tools and chainsaws, to our BCS Trackmasater and Avant 640, we are fully equipped to engage in a variety of tasks.
For any specialist machinery requirements, such as excavators, mechanical rollers, whacker-plates or a MEWP, we cross hire from ABBA Plant, TFM or VIC Hire.
Maintenance – Our maintenance package offers frequent grass cutting, weeding and pruning to all elements of our works. We also include litter picking, leaf blowing and spraying using our qualifications in PA1 and PA6 herbicides, within our service to ensure the work we carry out is left in a pristine condition.
Hard landscaping – Using bespoke products we are able to offer a variety of hard landscaping services. Working from specific designs provided internally, we are able to create hard standing areas formed with slabs or decking while also incorporating timber features, such as pergolas or raised timber planters.
Design – In our company inventory we have a internal designer, providing consultation and advice to clients, to also suggest concept ideas for consideration, in the form of a drawing, replicating a potential project.
Health and Safety – We are privileged enough to have our own internal Health and Safety advisor, who is NEBOSH Certificated and carries out all of our risk and method statements before we commence works.
Regular visits are made to all of our sites to carry out further assessment of working conditions, in order to reduce the risk of injury through identifying potential hazards and providing solutions to eradicate them.
