Projects update

Ings Lane, Hibaldstow

We’ve recently completed work on a new housing development in the village of Hibaldstow. The scheme includes 20 new homes off Ings Lane, and our landscaping brief covered turfing, tree planting, and shrub planting. The scheme was headed up by our Site Supervisor, Vinny, who led a skilled team to deliver the project ahead of schedule
Trees were planted in selected plots to soften the lines of the buildings and create natural focal points throughout the development. A further selection of native trees and shrubs were added to this scheme, chosen not only for their visual impact but also to contribute towards the development’s Biodiversity Net Gain requirements.
A mix of evergreen and deciduous shrubs, known for their wildlife value, was planted in open areas. These help to soften the streetscape while providing valuable foraging and nesting opportunities for local wildlife.

Operations update

New Power Box Rake Joins the Fleet

We’ve recently invested in another Mumby Power Box Rake to support our landscaping teams. It made sense to add to our equipment so we can keep up with demand without compromising on quality.
It’s mounted on a compact tracked loader and is a key part of our landscaping equipment – ideal for final grading, seedbed preparation, and tidying up rough ground. The new model will help our teams continue to work efficiently and deliver a high-quality finish across a variety of sites and conditions.
We collected it ourselves earlier this month and it’s already been put to use. Here are a couple of photos from collection day (just about squeezed into the van!).

100% Compliance in Our Recent HR Audit

We’re pleased to share that we recently underwent an HR audit by our employment law and HR support providers, Stallard Kane, and we were awarded a 100% compliance score! The audit reviewed our HR policies, documentation, and practices to ensure they meet current legal standards and best practice. It’s a thorough process, and we’re proud to have achieved a perfect score. This result reflects the effort and attention our Operations Manager, Kellie, put into making sure our HR procedures are up to date, clear, and fair. It’s important to us that we create a workplace that’s not only compliant but supportive, consistent, and well-managed. Thank you to everyone involved – and a particular thanks to the team at Stallard Kane for their support and guidance.

Team updates

Muddy Boots and Big Hearts: Our Team Takes on the Macmillan Mighty Hike

Last month, a group of our brilliant team members laced up their boots and tackled the Macmillan Mighty Hike through the Peak District – all 26 miles of it.
The challenge was tough, with a mix of sunshine, showers and more than a few muddy stretches, but the team kept each other going with plenty of laughs and a shared determination to cross the finish line. It wasn’t just about the miles – it was about making a difference. Together, they raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, helping provide care and support to people living with cancer.
We’re so proud of everyone who took part. It was a long day, but the energy and team spirit never wavered. A huge well done to our muddy heroes – your effort, resilience, and commitment to a great cause is inspiring.

Ross Marks 10 Years with the Business

Last month, we celebrated a major milestone – 10 years since Ross joined the business.
Ross started out as a landscaping operative, where he quickly stood out for his creativity, attention to detail, and strong plant knowledge. His interest in design saw him move into the office, where he brought a fresh perspective to our design and estimating work and played a big part in shaping how we approach commercial landscaping.
Now, as our Commercial Manager, Ross oversees all pricing and enquiries, supports clients with optional concept designs, and plays a key role in helping us win new work.
As if that wasn’t enough to celebrate, Ross also married his beautiful fiancée, Amy, at the end of May. It’s been a big year both professionally and personally, and we couldn’t be happier for him.
Ross has been a big part of our growth over the last decade, and we’re incredibly proud of everything he’s achieved. Thanks for everything, Ross — here’s to the next 10!

Congratulations to Kellie on her PRINCE2® Practitioner Certification

We’re proud to share that our Operations Manager, Kellie, has recently achieved her PRINCE2® 7 Practitioner certification in Project Management.
This is a fantastic achievement and a real credit to the commitment and effort she’s put in alongside her day-to-day responsibilities. The PRINCE2® framework is widely recognised in our industry and beyond, and this qualification adds even more strength to Kellie’s already impressive skillset.
Well done, Kellie—everyone here is delighted for you.
