Using our specialist machinery and with the option of two implements, we are able to cultivate consolidated soil to break up compaction to then allow us to grade and level using a combination of our ‘BLEC Box Rake’ and manual rakes to achieve an appropriate finish.
Using Chelwood Rakes accompanied with our skill set, we are able to manually rake areas to clear debris up to 50mm and grade the soil to achieve a foundation that is acceptable for seeding or turfing.
Using Arena quality turf that is locally harvested, partnered with fertiliser we obtain from Germinal Seeds, we have all the required products to lay healthy turf, using our in-house methods, laying from batons, it allows us to leave a vibrant looking finish to satisfy all our clients.
All seed we use is sourced from our specialist, Germinal Seeds. Using high quality mixtures of seeds, we are able to calibrate our distributor to accurately achieve an even and sufficient coverage to all areas. We also offer the option of rolling once the heads of the seed start to emerge, to further germination followed by overseeing any areas that look to have failed.
Collaborating with an extensive range of nursery suppliers, such as Draycott Nurseries, based locally in Stoke-on-Trent, along with the likes of Coles and Johnsons Nurseries, who produce and provide high-quality plants, we aim to achieve our clients’ interpretation of their concept idea, which we can bring to life with a variety of hand-picked shrubs varying in species and size.
To all of our planting schemes we encourage the incorporation of Geo-textile membrane. This acts as a weed suppressant to prolong the high standard of finish we leave once all planting aspects are complete. To cover the dull fabric of the membrane, we chose to use bark mulch from our preferred supplier, Fox (Ownby) Ltd. The mulch we use is a recycled product that adds a different dimension to the area. We recommend a coverage of 50mm to see the benefit of the natural material which enhances our planting schemes.
We are fully equipped to engage in a variety of tasks due to our extensive range of power tools and machinery. We continuously use our BCS Trackmaster and Avant 640, maintaining our equipment regularly in-house with our team, who are mechanically inclined. For any specialist machinery requirements, we cross-hire from various sources, such as VIC Hire and ABBA plant.
Our maintenance packages offer frequent grass cutting, weeding and pruning to all elements of our works. We also include litter picking, leaf blowing and spraying using our qualifications in PA1 and PA6 herbicides, within our service to ensure the work we carry out is left in a pristine condition. All supervisors and team leaders are fully qualified in this discipline.
Using bespoke products we are able to offer a variety of fencing and hard landscaping services. Working from specific designs provided internally, we are able to incorporate timber features, such as pergolas or raised timber planters into finished designs. Our hard landscaping team are fully adept at fencing using locally supported materials from our partners at Listers.
In our company inventory we have an internal designer, providing consultation and advice to clients, to also suggest concept ideas for consideration, in the form of a drawing, replicating a potential project. Our vast knowledge and experience in species and planning design gives our schemes a finesse for longevity and purpose.
Before work can commence, our internal health and safety advisor, who has recently completed their IOSH Managing Safely Award, carries out a full risk assessment and produces method statements regarding the site and project. Additionally, all of our sites are regularly monitored and visited by them to ensure the safety of our Landscape Operatives.
